Hospital Pharmacy Jobs

I think the best health care job out there is hospital pharmacy jobs.  If you are wondering why then let me tell you.

First of all a pharmacist has a wide range of schedules that they can choose from.  Most pharmacists with families choose to do the traditional 8-5 job, but there are more choices then that.  You can work 4 10 hour shifts. The next option is to do 12 hour shifts either by working 7 days in a row then having seven off or by working three having 4 off, working 4, having 3 off and so on.  These are the most common shifts but there are still more that are available out there.

Another thing that pharmacists have going for them is pay.  If you work in a grocery store then you can be certain you make more then anyone else in that store.  However if you take hospital pharmacy jobs then the pay is still high but there will be people making more then you.  As a starting pharmacist you can expect to earn anywhere from 75,000-125,000.

As a pharmacist you have great job security.  Because there is a lot of schooling involved to become a pharmacist there is a great shortage in the US.  You will also get great benefits including time off, health and dntal insurance, and some great 401K packages.

The last thing that really turns some people to hospital pharmacy jobs is the lack of bodily fluids.  As a pharmacist you still get to be in the healthcare industry; you are still helping people; you can still make a difference in someone’s life, however, you do not have to deal with blood, urine, puke, or any other bodily fluid that you may be subjected to as a nurse or doctor.
