Jobs In Hospitals: Finding and Getting the Job

Jobs in hospitals are a satisfying and very well-paid career to get into.  Within a hospital there are many opportunities to be promoted and get education which will then increase your earning potential.  I’ve known nurses, doctors, technicians and pharmacist who started their healthcare career as a housekeeper or maintenance worker in the hospital.

If jobs in hospitals are something you are looking into then let me help you get that job.  The best place for you to start is with a personal contact at the hospital you want to work at.  Most hospitals will post jobs internally before they go to the general public, so knowing someone on the inside will greatly increase your chance.  If a job you want goes up then send in your resume, they will still accept it at the beginning and you may have the job before the posting ever went public.

If you do not or can not find a contact at the hospital then don’t feel disappointed because you will still be able to obtain a hospital job.  A lot of the jobs, especially the starter jobs are not filled internally so they go to the general public.  So start signing up and getting your resume posted on job sites.  To get a list of the top rated job sites check out my job guide.

Getting your resume on the site shouldn’t be the only thing you do.  You should also spend a little time each day looking through the postings and submit your resume to those you would like to be considered for.

If you are truly serious about getting jobs in hospitals then there are a few things that you can do that will increase your chances.  Find a place to get CPR certified and go take the class.  Also if you have any piercing take them out, at least for the interview.  When you go for the interview do not wear scrubs, wear slacks, a button up shirt and tie, for ladies wear a nice pair of slacks, and a business like blouse.
